شر    Evil 

شر الدواب عندالله The worst of beasts at Allah        
{إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَابِّ عِندَ اللّهِ الصُّمُّ الْبُكْمُ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ } الأنفال22
22. The worst of animals to God are the deaf and dumb—those who do not reason.
{إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَابِّ عِندَ اللّهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ }الأنفال55
55. The worst of creatures in God's view are those who disbelieve. They have no faith.
شر مكانا               Evil venue
{قَالُواْ إِن يَسْرِقْ فَقَدْ سَرَقَ أَخٌ لَّهُ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَلَمْ يُبْدِهَا لَهُمْ قَالَ أَنتُمْ شَرٌّ مَّكَاناً وَاللّهُ أَعْلَمْ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ }يوسف77
77. They said, “If he has stolen, a brother of his has stolen before.” But Joseph kept it to himself, and did not reveal it to them. He said, “You are in a worse situation, and God is Aware of what you allege.”
{قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِي الضَّلَالَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ الرَّحْمَنُ مَدّاً حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا الْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا السَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَّكَاناً وَأَضْعَفُ جُنداً }مريم75
75. Say, “Whoever is in error, the Most Merciful will lead him on.” Until, when they see what they were promised—either the punishment, or the Hour. Then they will know who was in worse position and weaker in forces.
مسه الشر Evil touches                  
(يأس – قنوط – جزع – دعا) (Despair - despair - alarming – called)
{وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَأَى بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ كَانَ يَؤُوساً }الإسراء83
83. When We bless the human being, he turns away and distances himself. But when adversity touches him, he is in despair.
{لَا يَسْأَمُ الْإِنسَانُ مِن دُعَاء الْخَيْرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَؤُوسٌ قَنُوطٌ }فصلت49
49. The human being never tires of praying for good things; but when adversity afflicts him, he despairs and loses hope.
{وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَأى بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَاء عَرِيضٍ }فصلت51
51. When We provide comfort for the human being, he withdraws and distances himself; but when adversity befalls him, he starts lengthy prayers.
{إِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعاً }المعارج20
20. Touched by adversity, he is fretful.
بالشر                         with evil
(دعاء – فتنة – شرر) (Prayer – sedition- Sparks)
{وَيَدْعُ الإِنسَانُ بِالشَّرِّ دُعَاءهُ بِالْخَيْرِ وَكَانَ الإِنسَانُ عَجُولاً }الإسراء11
11. The human being prays for evil as he prays for good. The human being is very hasty.
{كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ }الأنبياء35
35. Every soul will taste death. We burden you with adversity and prosperity—a test. And to Us you will be returned.
{إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ }المرسلات32
32. It shoots sparks as castles.
شرا                            worse    
(إفك – عمل) (A lie – work)
{إِنَّ الَّذِينَ جَاؤُوا بِالْإِفْكِ عُصْبَةٌ مِّنكُمْ لَا تَحْسَبُوهُ شَرّاً لَّكُم بَلْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُم مَّا اكْتَسَبَ مِنَ الْإِثْمِ وَالَّذِي تَوَلَّى كِبْرَهُ مِنْهُمْ لَهُ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ }النور11
11. Those who perpetrated the slander are a band of you. Do not consider it bad for you, but it is good for you. Each person among them bears his share in the sin. As for him who played the major role—for him is a terrible punishment.
{وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرّاً يَرَهُ }الزلزلة8
8. And whoever has done an atom's weight of evil will see it.
أشر sinister                                   
(رجال أشرار – كذاب – أراد)(Evil men - bouncing - he wanted)
{وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَى رِجَالاً كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ الْأَشْرَارِ }ص62
62. And they will say, “What is it with us that we do not see men we used to count among the wicked?
{أَأُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ }القمر25
25. Was the message given to him, out of all of us? In fact, he is a wicked liar.”
{سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَداً مَّنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ }القمر26
26. They will know tomorrow who the wicked liar is.
{وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِي أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَداً }الجن10
10. We do not know whether ill is intended for those on earth, or if their Lord intends goodness for them.

من شر               from the evil of
{مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ }الفلق2
2. From the evil of what He created.
{وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ }الفلق3
3. And from the evil of the darkness as it gathers.
{وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ }الفلق4
4. And from the evil of those who practice sorcery.
{وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ }الفلق5
5. And from the evil of an envious when he envies.”
{مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ }الناس4
4. From the evil of the sneaky whisperer.
شر                Evil   
{كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تَكْرَهُواْ شَيْئاً وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تُحِبُّواْ شَيْئاً وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ }البقرة216
216. Fighting is ordained for you, even though you dislike it. But it may be that you dislike something while it is good for you, and it may be that you like something while it is bad for you. God knows, and you do not know.
{فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُوراً }الإنسان11
11. So God will protect them from the ills of that Day, and will grant them radiance and joy.
{يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْماً كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيراً }الإنسان7
7. They fulfill their vows, and dread a Day whose ill is widespread.
الشر                 The evil
{وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ اللّهُ لِلنَّاسِ الشَّرَّ اسْتِعْجَالَهُم بِالْخَيْرِ لَقُضِيَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَجَلُهُمْ فَنَذَرُ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَرْجُونَ لِقَاءنَا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ }يونس11
11. If God were to accelerate the ill for the people, as they wish to accelerate the good, their term would have been fulfilled. But We leave those who do not expect Our encounter to blunder in their excesses.
